Can Mobile Gambling Overtake Regular Gambling?

In the last few years, we have seen an exponential rise in the number of mobile gambling sites appearing out there. All the major players are getting involved, as it is becoming more and more apparent that people are looking to wager money on their mobiles. Although this particular sector is relatively new, provided that the number of people who posses Smartphones increases, the number of people searching for mobile gaming is only set to increase.

A recent survey undertaken by the new mobile casino site Fortune Frenzy, has made evident that we as a society are becoming addicted to our phones. Some of the main key points of the study were:

• 53% of people admit they spend part of their working day playing games on their mobile phone.

• On average, respondents spent one hour playing games during the work day each week.

• 57% of respondents habitually check their phones every 10 minutes or less.

It is also worth noting that a YOUGOV study in 2025 reported that 80% of the workforce deemed it to be unacceptable to read and send texts in the workplace in. However, this study reported that as few 9% would avoid all mobile phone usage whilst at work. It is clear from this data that, people who have Smartphones have become glued to them.

The idea of playing games on your phone isn't a new one, nevertheless, with phones now having become so much more sophisticated; it doesn't come as a surprise that people are now using their phones to play games that traditionally they would have had easy access to – such as mobile casinos.

From a player's point of view, this is a good time to get into mobile gaming. Because the sector is relatively new, there are many great no deposit offers on various sites to help you get started. Moreover, it is a much more exciting way to pass the time on your daily commute, being able to bring a casino to your mobile. So what does the rise of mobile gambling mean for traditional gambling or even online gambling as we know it now?
